10.10 Results Screen
The Results Screen displays the recorded measurement results, including:
· Average Heart Rate (HR): Measured in beats per minute.
· Average Respiratory Rate (RR): Measured in breaths per minute.
Out-of-Range Measurements
For accuracy and reliability, the app provides exact values only within a validated range:
· Heart Rate: 50 to 120 beats per minute
· Respiratory Rate: 6 to 20 breaths per minute
If the calculated measurement falls outside these ranges, the app will display one of the following messages instead of an exact value:
· "Calculated heart rate is 50 beats per minute or lower."
· "Calculated heart rate is 120 beats per minute or higher."
· "Calculated respiratory rate is 6 breaths per minute or lower."
· "Calculated respiratory rate is 20 breaths per minute or higher."
Why Out-of-Range Values Are Displayed as Ranges
The app is designed to provide reliable measurements within the validated range of 50–120 beast per minute for heart rate and 6–20 breaths per minute for respiratory rate. Measurements outside these limits may be less accurate due to technical limitations, such as:
· Variability in camera-based measurements when detecting extreme values.
· Motion artifacts affecting signal quality.
· Individual physiological differences that may require medical-grade equipment for precise readings.
To ensure user safety and prevent misinterpretation, extreme values are grouped into predefined ranges instead of displaying potentially inaccurate numbers. If a measurement appears significantly abnormal or unexpected, users should consult a healthcare provider.
Low Signal Quality Warning
If the recording quality is insufficient, the app will display a message indicating that the signal quality was low. The measurement should be repeated for accurate results.
Use the "Finish" button at the bottom of the screen to navigate back to the Main screen.
11.0 Tips for Taking A Good Recording
This section describes the steps required to increase the likelihood of taking a good recording and reduce unnecessary complications regarding receiving an accurate and reliable result.
• Take recordings in a well-lit room.
• Remove any hats, sunglasses or any other items of clothing that could prevent the camera from seeing your face.
• Wear minimal or no makeup, or anything else on your face that could prevent the camera from taking an accurate recording.
• Make sure the front camera lens is clean and unobstructed for the clearest possible image.
• Place your face within the oval on the screen at the start of the recording and keep it in the same location for the entirety of the recording.
• Do not speak or make any facial movements.
• Stay focused on the recording and remove local distractions to reduce the risk of unexpected movement.
• Stay as still as possible. The best way to do this is by taking the recording in a seated position with your elbows and back resting against the seat.
• Keep the camera still during the recording. This is best done by using a phone stand or supporting it with an object on a table.
• Retake the recording and start again if, at any point in the 60 second recording window, you think that the quality of the recording has been affected.
