The Opportunity
As a Graduate Data Scientist, you’ll apply your strong mathematical and problem-solving background to real-world healthcare challenges. This role is ideal for recent mathematics or physics graduate / post -graduate who are excited about working with complex datasets, learning modern data science techniques, and applying their skills in a practical, impactful way.
You’ll be mentored by experienced data scientists while gaining hands-on experience with healthcare-related data, machine learning models, and software development practices.
We are an open and ambitious team of scientists and engineers, keen to make a big impact in digital healthcare, and we believe this is a rare opportunity for someone that sees the trend towards the digitalisation of healthcare and is fascinated by such technological challenges.

Your Responsibilities

Preparing, exploring, and analysing large and varied datasets.

Perform clinical data collection.

Devising techniques for data capture/analysis, and building rapid prototypes and proofs of concept.

Contributing to research, prototyping, and testing of algorithms and models.

Supporting the development of statistical and machine learning methods for healthcare applications.

Collaborating with data scientists, engineers, and clinicians to solve challenging problems.

Helping document software and methods in accordance with our internal Quality Management System (QMS).

Communicating ideas and findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Learning and contributing to internal tools, dashboards, and reports.

Ability to work on multiple ongoing projects with varying requirements, timescales and budgets.
What You’ll Need
-
A strong academic background in Mathematics, Physics, or a related quantitative field (BSc, MSc, or equivalent).

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an interest in applying them to healthcare challenges.

Some exposure to python programming and enthusiasm to develop further.

Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. google cloud platform, AWS, Firebase) and SQL/NoSQL databases.

Strong communicator and ability to interact well with both other data scientists and non-technical audiences.

Comfortable in adopting and testing new ideas and approaches from cutting-edge research.

Curiosity about data science, machine learning, or signal processing.

Openness to learning new domain knowledge and new technologies to apply to our use-cases.

Enthusiasm for digital health and desire to do well with the work you do.

Flexibility, adaptability, and enthusiasm for learning.
Nice-to-Haves (not essential, but a plus)

Signal processing and time-series analysis experience.

Previous experience in developing healthcare-based applications.

Experience with developing and testing CNNs, RNNs, and transformer models.

Computer vision knowledge.

Node, JavaScript

Experience with C/C++ programming.

Familiarity with working in an Agile environment.

Experience with data visualisation or time-series analysis (e.g. Tableau, Power BI, AWS QuickSight).

A demonstrable interest in digital health or medical technology.
